The engine identification is embossed on the flat surface (1) on
the transmission side of the cylinder block.
Caution
On installation of a short-block, the engine number must be
embossed in the cylinder block before installation.
A large "R" (2) must be embossed at a distance from the engine
number to identify the engine short-block.
