Crankshaft Bearing Bridge, Remove and Install
Remove
Remove oil baffle plate – see operation "Oil Baffle Plate,
Remove and Install".
Caution
The threaded sleeves of the crankshaft bearing bridge may not be
released or removed because this may cause damage to the crankshaft
bearing bridge.
If damage is determined at the crankshaft bearing bridge, this
must be replaced.
Detach and remove crankshaft bearing bridge (1) from crankshaft
bearing cap and cylinder block.
Caution
Note installation position – arrow (2) points to engine
timing side.

Install
Connect crankshaft bearing bridge with fastening bolts (1) to
crankshaft bearing cover – tightening torque 50 Nm / 37 lbf.
ft. + 60° + 15°.
Note: When installing
a new crankshaft bearing bridge, the threaded sleeves (2) must be
tightened to a tightening torque of 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Install fastening bolts (3) – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15
lbf. ft.
Install oil baffle plate – see operation "Oil Baffle
Plate, Remove and Install".
