Engine Vent Housing, Remove and Install
|
 Remove
Remove intake bridge – see operation "Intake Bridge,
Remove and Install". Remove water deflector – see operation
"Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in group "A". Remove clean
air filter – see operation "Clean Air Filter, Remove and
Install" in group "D".
Remove fastening bolt (1), remove cover from assembly
aperture.
Loosen upper heat shield from exhaust manifold for cylinders
1-3-5 – do not remove (2 bolts from above, 1 bolt from
below).
Remove tank vent valve (arrow) from engine vent housing.

Detach engine vent hoses from engine vent housing.
Remove fastening bolts (1) and (2) – remove engine vent
housing.
Caution
Ensure that foreign objects do not fall into the cylinder
block.
 Clean
Version with paper gasket: clean sealing surface (3) on cylinder
head and engine vent housing.
Install
Attach engine vent housing with new gasket to cylinder block
– 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.

Clean
|
For version with adhesive sealing compound (white): Clean
sealing surfaces on cylinder block and engine vent housing.
Caution
Do not create scoring or scratches when cleaning sealing
surfaces.
Install
Apply an approx. 2 mm (dimension I) thick bead of adhesive
sealing compound (white) in groove of engine vent housing and
install immediately while wet.

Attach engine vent housing to cylinder block – tightening
torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. Attach engine vent hoses to engine vent
housing. Attach tank vent valve to engine vent housing. Install
installation aperture cover. Fasten upper heat shield to exhaust
manifold for cylinders 1-3-5 (2 bolts from above, 1 bolt from
below). Install clean air filter – see operation "Clean Air
Filter, Remove and Install" in group "D". Install water deflector
– see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in
group "A" Install intake bridge – see operation "Intake
Bridge, Remove and Install".
