Motronic M 1.5.4

 

 

Vehicles:

 

All Omega-B with 20 SE / X 20 SE engines

 

 

Condition:

 

1.  With replacement of the Motronic M 1.5.4 control unit, when the control unit is installed in the vehicle, Trouble Code 10 is set (EEPROM not programmed) and the engine telltale illuminates. Trouble Code 10 is at present not readable with TECH 1.

 

 

2.  Analogously to the Motronic M 2.8.1 (Omega-B with X 25 XE / X 30 XE engine), with the Motronic M 1.5.4 at a temperature in the control unit greater than 96 °C/205 °F, Trouble Code 137 is set (temperature of control unit housing is too high). Trouble Code 137 is at present not readable with TECH 1.

 

 

Remedy:

 

1.  Observe the following procedure when installing a new control unit:

 

·   Connect TECH 1, select with key F7:PROGRAMMING and program Version Code (20 SE or X 20 SE) as shown in the Checking Procedures for Motronic M 1.5.4.

 

·   Erase Trouble Codes.

 

 

2.  If Trouble Code 137 is suspected (temperature of control unit housing too high), flash Trouble Codes and initiate trouble-shooting (e.g. check functioning of fan of control unit box).

 

 

Trouble Codes 10 and 137 are readable with Program Module "Opel/Vauxhall MSC" with TECH 1 as of Model Year '95.
