This check can be performed in two operating conditions:
"ignition ON, engine OFF" or "engine running at idle
speed".
The first part of the check should be performed if the
engine cannot be started; otherwise the second part ensures accurate
diagnosis.
Check 1:
Ignition ON
Engine OFF

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the
desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.
Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.
Note:
The exhaust gas recirculation valve is actuated at a
frequency of 0.5 Hz.
The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.
