This test step serves as a learning and checking value for better comprehension of the system and to evaluate the system with external influences.

 

The injection period is composed of several elements which have an effect on the size of the signal.

If the measurements of the following test steps deviate from the nominal values, carry out trouble - shooting.

Further additional causes of fault are:

 

·   Lead interruptions

     -    injector relay K 43 / Ter. 8 (+) to injectors

     -    control unit K 61 / Ter. 15, Ter. 16, Ter. 17, Ter. 33, Ter. 34, Ter. 35

to injectors

·   Pressure regulator defective

·   Injectors stick

·   Electromagnetic interference caused by

     -    ignition leads (reroute further away from wiring harness)

     -    alternator (worn carbon brushes produce sparks)

·   Control unit K 61 defective
