SELECT ACTUATOR

INT. MANIF. V2

Check information:

Carry out check 1 if the engine does not start; otherwise proceed to check 2 (check of MULTI RAM system).

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

Noise check:

clicking noise from intake manifold switchover valve 2

124, 133

134

19, 31

Check 1 (check of intake manifold switchover valve 2):

Ignition ON

Engine OFF

Intake manifold switchover valve 2

switches alternately:

ACTIVE   0 V

INACTIVE 12 V

Note:

Intake manifold switchover valve 2 is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s). The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s

Remark:

Intake manifold switchover valve 2 is located in the intake manifold. At engine speeds above 3300 rpm, it is switched from closed to open.

Check 2 (check of MULTI RAM system):

Engine running at idle speed, operating temperature

Throttle valve CLOSED (accelerator pedal in idle position)

Vehicle stationary

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display

Intake manifold switchover valve 2 switches alternately:

ACTIVE   0 V

INACTIVE 12 V

Noise check:

clicking noise from intake manifold switchover valve 2

The motion of the vacuum valve pistonis visible in the engine compartment

Note:

Intake manifold switchover valve 2 is actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s).

The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.
