Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

Vehicles with MT:

·     Disconnect plug from control unit K69.

Using ohmmeter, measure from control unit plug Ter. 30 to ground for passage

Vehicles with AT:

·     Omega - B:

Ignition Off. Disconnect wiring harness plug from control unit K69 and wiring harness plug from X4

W

·     Lead interruption

·     Poor ground connection (corrosion)

·     Control unit K69 defective

Using multimeter, check lead connection between wiring harness plug from K69 / Ter. 30 and wiring harness plug X4 / Ter. 18

       - for passage,

       - for short circuit to ground,

       - for short circuit to + battery voltage

Further possible faults:

Passage

¥ W

0 V

·     Lead interruption, short circuit to ground or to + battery voltage in lead connection between control unit K69 / Ter. 30 and wiring harness plug connection X4 / Ter. 18

·     Lead connection between AT control unit K85 / Ter. l and wiring harness plug connection X 4 / Ter. 1 8 faulty

·     Fault in AT system

·     SIMTEC control unit K69 defective

Vectra / Cavalier, Calibre:

·     Ignition Off. Disconnect wiring harness plug from control unit K 69. Ignition On.

Measure voltage at wiring harness plug K 69 / Ter. 30

       - with selector lever in "P" "N"

       - with selector lever in "R" "D" "3" "2" "1"

Further possible faults:

0 V

12 V

·     Short circuit to + battery voltage in lead between wiring harness plug K69 / Ter. 30 and wiring plug connection X9 / Ter. 4

·     Lead connection from control unit K69 / Ter. 30 to wiring plug connection X9 / Ter. 4 has interruption or short circuit to ground

·     X9 / Ter. 4 does not receive + battery voltage from starter switch S1 (via K3 of anti - theft warning system, if fitted)
