Oil Pressure – Main Pressure, Check (except
Y 25 DT)
Caution
During this check, the brakes must be constantly actuated. Prior
to checking fluid pressure check transmission fluid level, correct
if necessary – see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check
and Correct".
Remove
Remove engine cover, if present. Unscrew threaded plug (1) on
left transmission side (converter housing). Illustrations show
vehicle with V6 engine.

|
Install
Install Adapter KM-712-A (1) and connect Pressure Gauge KM-498-B
(2).
Inspect
Check fluid pressure with vehicle stationary, in gear and with
engine running (idle speed). Test values – see following
pages.
Torque
Install new threaded plugs for fluid pressure checking
connection in transmission and tighten – 12 Nm / 9 lbf.
ft.
Install engine cover, if present.

Caution
The stall speed is the maximum engine speed with gear selected
and fully braked vehicle. Select gear, firmly actuate service and
parking brake and keep accelerator pedal depressed for max. 10
seconds. Do not exceed this period of time as the transmission
heats up very rapidly during this test. Before repeating the test,
a pause must be made to allow the transmission to cool down.
The current consumption of the electro-hydraulic pressure
regulator can be checked via diagnostic unit TECH 1, TECH 1A or
TECH 2. The maximum main pressure valves are calculated for the
current consumption pressure regulator solenoid valve stated in the
tables.
