Clutch Pedal, Remove and Install (4- Cylinder Petrol Engine) > < Hydraulic Clutch Actuation, Bleed

Clutch Pedal, Remove and Install (6-Cylinder and/or Diesel Engines)

  Remove

Remove clutch master cylinder – see operation "Master Cylinder, Replace" in this group.

Press clutch pedal down completely and remove upper fastening bolt (1) for pedal support and take pedal support out of footwell.

  Disassemble

Clamp clutch pedal in vice.

Caution

Object Number: 2389144  Size: DEFAULT


High spring pre-tensioning.

  Disassemble

Relieve tension on overcentre spring and remove from clutch pedal and pedal support.

Object Number: 2389126  Size: DEFAULT


Remove securing clamp (3) and nut with washer (2) from bolt.

Drive bolt (1) out of pedal support. Remove pedal.

  Inspect

Check parts for reusability.

  Assemble

Re-usable parts.

Coat hole in pedal with lubricating grease.

Insert pedal into pedal support, aligning holes for bolt.

Insert bolt (1) from left to right and drive in.

Torque

Bolt in pedal support and pedal axis - 18 Nm (4), secure using clamp (5)

  Install

Attach overcentre spring to pedal and pedal support.

Attach spring bearing with thinner cylinder projection to pedal.

Insert pedal support in footwell.

Depress clutch pedal and screw in upper pedal support fastening bolt (1).

Torque

Pedal support to firewall - 18 Nm .

Install master cylinder - see appropriate operation in this group.

Bleed hydraulic clutch actuation – see corresponding operation in this group.
