Activated Carbon Canister, Remove and Install

Note:   The activated carbon canister is located in the front right wheel housing.

  Remove

Remove right front wheel.

Remove inner wing protective panelling – see operation "Protective Panelling – Inner Wing, Remove and Install" in group "A".

Remove fastening nut and pull activated carbon canister upwards out of bracket.

Remove hoses from activated carbon canister.

  Install

Connect hoses to activated carbon canister.

Vent line connection from fuel tank – Ø 8 mm.

2 =

Purge line connection to tank vent valve – Ø 6 mm, do not fasten with hose clamp (risk of destruction)!

3 =

Route vent line downwards between activated carbon canister and wheel housing – Ø 10 mm.

 

Fasten vent line to activated carbon canister with cable ties (4).


Object Number: 2414818  Size: DEFAULT

Insert activated carbon canister in bracket and tighten fastening nut – tightening torque – 4 Nm / 3 lbf. ft.

Install inner wing protective panelling – see operation "Protective Panelling – Inner Wing, Remove and Install" in group "A".

Attach right front wheel – tightening torque 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.
