Controlled Canister Purge System - Petrol Engines
The controlled canister purge system prevents
fuel vapour arising in the fuel tank from escaping into the
atmosphere.
Vapour is collected in a canister filled with activated
carbon.
Depending on the operating condition of the
engine, this fuel vapour is then returned to the combustion
process.
The activated carbon canister lies well protected behind a
plastic cover at the front right of the wheel housing.
