Spring Strut with Gas Pressure Shock Absorber Spring strut and gas pressure shock absorbers are installed in a compact unit in the wheel well. There is no fastening in the load/luggage compartment. This design reduces noise transfer to the interior. Illus. F 5146 shows the construction of the spring strut and gas pressure shock absorber.
• Service The spring strut and shock absorber can only be removed in assembly.
