Glow Plugs, Remove and Install (as of MY '98)     Remove, Disconnect    For X 20 DTH: Detach brake servo vacuum line (3) from vacuum pump.   Detach charged air tube fastening clamp (1) and fastening nut (2) - place charged air tube to one side.   Release wiring harness plug (5) of glow plugs with KM-717 (4) and disconnect.   Remove glow plugs with KM-980.     Install, Connect    Install glow plugs in cylinder head with KM-980 - tightening torque 10 Nm / 7.5 lbf. ft.   Connect wiring harness plug to glow plugs.

Notice: 

Before assembling components of the intake system (hoses, connections, etc.), they must be cleaned of any possible contamination (grease, oil, etc.). When tightening the hose clamps, be sure to observe exactly the tightening torque of 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.  

  Important!   

It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.  

  Install, Connect   

Install charge air pipe with new seal ring.  

For X 20 DTH: Attach brake servo vacuum line to - tightening torque 18 Nm / 13.5 lbf. ft.
