Valve seat, cut (in cylinder head) > < Valves, remove

Valve seat rings, replace (X 15 DT, X 17 DT)

Special service tools required:

Welding equipment, remover, installer drift, assembly device KM-6215-1, storage facility KM-849

Note:   All attaching parts such as camshaft(s) and hydraulic valve lifters are removed. Cylinder head is attached to assembly device KM-6215-1. All valves are removed and placed on KM-849 in sequence of installation.

  Remove

Insert one nut at the inner valve seat ring and weld. Allow valve seat rings to cool. Metal plates must be laid on the cylinder head to avoid it being damage. The metal plates serve as a supporting point for the remover. Place the remover on the metal plates and carefully pull out the valve seat rings.

  Install

Place the installer drift on the valve seat ring and carefully press in the valve seat ring until stop.

Procedure

After pressing in the valve seat rings, these must be cut. See operation "Valve seat, cut (in cylinder head)". LUREF_1.gif

  Install

Install all valves in accordance with the sequence of removal. See operation "Cylinder head, assemble". LUREF_1.gif
