Oil Filter Housing, Remove and Install (up to MY '98)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove lower engine compartment cover.   For version with air conditioning: Remove fan housing - see operation "Fan Motor, Remove and Install (X 20 DTL with AC)".   Detach coolant hoses (1) from oil filter housing - collect escaping coolant.   Remove fastening bolts (2). Remove oil filter housing downwards - collect escaping engine oil.

  Clean   

Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.     Install, Connect    Attach oil filter casing to cylinder block with new gasket (1) - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.   Connect coolant hoses to oil filter housing - ensure proper seating.   For version with air conditioning: Install fan housing - see operation "Fan Motor, Remove and Install (X 20 DTL with AC)".   Install lower engine compartment cover.   Check engine oil level, if necessary correct.   Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
