FLASH Programming

The new FLASH programming makes it possible to cover several engine versions with one Service control unit. The control unit software, calibrating characteristic curves and fields are then programmed.

The vehicle data is programmed into the new control unit using the diagnostic tester and TECH 15. Previously, this was only possible by exchanging the program memory (EPROM).

All programming data is supplied on the TECH 15 CD.

• Service

Procedure:

-  Connect diagnostic tester with MSC program module to the vehicle diagnostic plug.

-  Read vehicle information into the diagnostic plug.

-  Connect diagnostic tester to TECH 15.

-  Load vehicle information into TECH 15 from diagnostic tester

-  Copy desired new data from CD onto diagnostic tester

-  Connect diagnostic tester to diagnostic plug of vehicle and program new data into engine control unit.

The diagnostic plug with the MSC program module therefore serves as the transfer medium. Direct connection between TECH 15 and the engine control unit is not possible.

Notice:

The new, unprogrammed engine control unit must be marked with the current calibration code (previously four letters on program memory) after programming.
