Tank Vent Valve, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Detach or remove wiring harness plug for Motronic M 1.5.4 - see illustration "Cable Routing - Motronic M 1.5.4".   Remove wiring trough from camshaft housing and lay aside. Detach vacuum hoses (1) and (2) from tank vent valve - when detaching the vacuum hoses from the valve body, ensure that the valve connections are not damaged. Damaged valves must be replaced. Close off vacuum hose (2) to activated carbon canister.     Important!    Damaged valve connections may lead to vehicle fires as a result of leaks.     Remove, Disconnect    Remove engine vent hose (3) from camshaft housing cover. Only release fastening bolt (4) and remove fastening bolt (5) - remove tank vent valve.

  Install, Connect   

Attach tank vent valve to camshaft housing - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.  

Attach engine bleeding hose to camshaft housing cover.  

Connect vacuum hoses to tank vent valve.  

Attach cable trough to camshaft housing - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.  

Connect or attach wiring harness plug for Motronic M 1.5.4 - see illustration "Cable Routing - Motronic M 1.5.4".
