Compression, Check  

Engine at operating temperature (oil temperature ≥ 80 ° C / 176 ° F).  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Detach spark plug connectors and remove spark plugs with KM-194-E.  

For 16 LZ2: disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from ignition coil.  

For X 16 SZR: disconnect wiring harness plug (2) from DIS ignition module.  

For 20 NEJ: disconnect wiring harness plug (3) from DIS ignition module.  

Open relay holder cover and remove fuel pump relay (4) from base.  

Object Number: 616196 Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Use compression recorder with rubber cone and measuring range up to 1750 kPa (17.5 bar). Actuate starter for approx. 4 seconds with throttle valve fully open - minimum engine speed 300 rpm.  

The pressure difference between the individual cylinders should not exceed 100 kPa (1 bar).

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Insert fuel pump relay into socket - ensure plug contact is correct. Close relay frame cover.  

For X 16 SZR: Connect wiring harness plug to DIS ignition module.  

For 16 LZ 2: connect wiring harness plug to ignition coil.  

For 20 NEJ: connect wiring harness plug to DIS ignition module.  

Install spark plugs with KM-194-E - tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.  

Connect spark plug connectors.
