Secondary Air Metal Pipe (Cylinders 2-4-6), Remove and Install (X 25 XE)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove 3 covers from above air deflector panel.   Remove battery carrier - see operation "Battery Carrier, Remove and Install" in group "A".   Remove power steering fluid reservoir (3 fastening bolts) and set aside.   Detach heat shield from exhaust manifold.   Remove secondary air combination valve (2) from secondary air metal pipe.   Detach crankshaft pulse pick-up cable clips (3) from secondary air metal pipe.   Remove fastening bolts for secondary air metal pipe (1 arrows). Detach secondary air metal pipe from connecting hose and remove upwards.

  Clean   

Remove gasket remnants, clean sealing surfaces.  

  Install, Connect   

Connect secondary air metal pipe to connecting hose.  

Coat fastening bolts for secondary air metal pipe with assembly paste and attach secondary air metal pipe with new gaskets to exhaust manifold and cylinder block.  

Install crankshaft pulse pick-up cable clips on secondary air metal pipe.  

Attach secondary air combination valve with new gasket to secondary air metal pipe.  

Attach heat shield to exhaust manifold.  

  Install, Connect   

Install power steering fluid reservoir (3 fastening bolts).  

Install battery carrier - see operation "Battery Carrier, Remove and Install" in group "A".  

Install 3 covers above air deflector panel.  

  Tighten (Torque)   

Secondary air metal pipe to exhaust manifold - 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.  

Secondary air combination valve to secondary air metal pipe - 6 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.  

Attach heat shield to exhaust manifold - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
