Description of Individual Components  

Control Unit for Electronic Cruise Control  

The control unit, the servo device with stepper motor and the safety clutch are installed in a housing located on the left front frame.   Stepper motor:   The stepper motor is actuated in steps by the control unit for the electronic cruise control. The operating range extends from 0 to 230 steps. For each step, the output shaft of the gearset is moved linearly by 0.17 mm, i.e. with an aperture of 230 steps, the output shaft and the connected Bowden cable has been moved approx. 38 mm.   Safety clutch:   In the event of a defect, the safety clutch ensures that the cruise control is mechanically separated. At the same time, trouble code 55 is stored in the control unit for the electronic cruise control.

Clutch Switch (Manual Transmission)  

The clutch switch is located on the clutch pedal and informs the control unit for the electronic cruise control when the clutch pedal is actuated.  

Control Switches for Cruise Control  

The control switches (3 tip switches) are integrated into the turn signal lever.     •  Tip switch "I"/"R" (rocker switch).   •  Tip switch "O" (tip switch).

Selector Lever Position Switch  

In vehicles with automatic transmission, the selector lever position switch provides the control unit for the electronic cruise control with information about whether the automatic transmission is in a forward gear or in the park/neutral position or reverse gear.  

Brake Lamp Switch  

The standard brake lamp switch is used. The control unit/actuator determines the switch condition of the brake lamp switch.  

Bowden Cable  

The Bowden cable connects the control unit for the electronic cruise control with the throttle valve lever.
