Introduction

This brochure describes the checking procedure for the electronic window winders.

General information/safety information

Prerequisites for checking the electronic window winders according to the checking programme:

•  Do not disconnect or connect wiring harness plug for control units or for other electronic components if the ignition is switched on.

•  In operations in which there is a danger of short circuit, the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery.

•  For rapid, accurate and safe fault diagnosis, use the checking equipment recommended by Opel/Vauxhall.

•  On checking, the battery must be in good condition and sufficiently charged. (Battery voltage greater than 11.5 V).

•  Disconnect battery from vehicle electronic system prior to charging or quick charging.

•  Do not use quick chargers for starting.

•  After disconnection of the battery, volatile memories must be reprogrammed. If the radio is coded, the customer must be informed that it has been decoded.

Caution:

Test steps in which connection contacts are connected to wiring harness plug or control units with ground or battery voltage must be carried out with great care. A falsely selected contact may lead to the destruction of internal circuits in the relevant control units.
