The breakdown of the display content for display group number 15 gives information as to which component triggered the alarm system last, and can
therefore aid in the troubleshooting and repair process. See: Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/Displaying and Reading Trouble Codes 

This "DTC memory" cannot be erased.

Only static DTCs are considered:

-

Central locking inoperative

-

Mirror positioning motor inoperative

-

Electric window positioning motor inoperative

-

CAN-bus communication inoperative

NOTE:  Before changing a component, erase DTC memory, perform functional checks, and check DTC memory again.

System active indicator

The optical central locking system active indicator is an additional LED in the upper part of the driver's door inner trim. The LED flashes for a period of
time and then goes out.

The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is not always displayed.

Requirements

Voltage supply and fuses OK

"Terminal 15 on" required to initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD)

NOTE:

-

If the display remains blank, check the VAG 1551 voltage supply.

Additional operating instructions can be obtained by pressing the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) "HELP" button.

The -> button is used to advance through the program sequence.

-

The "PRINT" button is used for switching on the printer (warning lamp in button lights up).

Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Refer to "Selectable Functions When Using VAG 1551", under "Restraint Systems",  See: Scan Tool Testing and
Procedures/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks

Switch ignition on.

-

Switch printer on with "PRINT" button (warning lamp in button lights up).
