Procedure

Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. See: Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks 

-

Initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD). See: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program 

Indicated on display

Rapid data transfer

HELP

Select function XX

-

Operate scan tool taking into account information on display.

-

Press buttons -0- and -3- to select "Output Diagnostic Test Mode" function 03.

-

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key from ignition lock.

03 - Output Diagnostic Test Mode

Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display

Output Diagnostic Test Mode

Perform individual tests. 

NOTE:  The output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) can be terminated by pressing the -C- button.

Press -> button.

If a component does not function:

-

Continue output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) to end.

Re-initiating output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) is only possible by ending the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) and turning the ignition off, then on again.

VAG 1551 scan tool with VAG 1551/3B cable

The measuring values in the functions "Read Measuring Value Block" and "Basic Setting" are described during the individual component test.
This table serves only as an overview.

The measuring value block is divided into 15 display group numbers. The assignment of the individual display fields can be found in the display group
overview. See: Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Measuring Value Blocks (Function 08)/Evaluating Measured Value Blocks
