Headlamp Bulb: Removal and Replacement

Replacing Bulbs For Headlamps Manufactured By Valeo 

Application and safety notes:

CAUTION:
If assembly work is performed on the main headlamps, note the following:

-

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical components and remove ignition key. 

Additional information:

Illustration depicts the left headlamp as installed.
Replacement of lamps for the right headlamp is performed analogously.
The low beam lamp and the turn signal lamp are located behind the housing cover -A-.
The high beam lamp and the parking light lamp are located behind the housing cover -B-.

NOTE: 

-

Headlamps are equipped with "One Touch System", meaning the lamps can be loosened and removed using a handle.

For reasons of clarity, the headlamps in the following work descriptions are depicted as removed.

DTC recognition and display: 

NOTE:  Lamps can be checked via output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519.

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051A for fault finding.

Description of work 
Replacing bulbs for low beam headlamps manufactured by Valeo.
Replacing bulbs for front turn signals manufactured by Valeo.
Replacing bulbs for high beam headlamps manufactured by Valeo.
Replacing bulbs for parking lights manufactured by Valeo.

Replacing Bulbs For Low Beam Headlamps Manufactured By Valeo 

Removing: 

CAUTION:  Note usage and safety notes for halogen lamps 

NOTE:  During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly
activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.

In order to be able to replace the bulb, it is sometimes necessary to remove neighboring components at the corresponding headlamp.

Refer to the following table as to which components are to be removed depending on engine version, in order to replace the bulb.
