Selector Shaft Seal

Selector Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Sleeve (VW 423)

‹› Pulling Hook (T20143)

‹› Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

Remove the air filter housing if it is located above the selector shaft.

Metal Relay Lever

-

Pull off the securing clip - 2 - and press the relay lever - 3 - to the side and out of the mounting. 

‹› If the relay lever cannot be removed due to the transmission mount bracket, remove the selector cable from the lever. Remove the slide shoe from

the transmission shift lever.

Plastic Relay Lever

-

Remove the relay lever with the cable retainer. Refer to => [ Plastic Relay Lever ] See: Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Description and Operation.

Remove the nut - 4 - and remove the transmission shift lever - 1 -.
