Connect the connector on the ECM and push the retainers all the way in the - direction of the arrow -.

Mount the ECM into the retaining frame and push it in the - direction of the arrow - upward.

Install the plenum chamber bulkhead.

Install the windshield wiper arms.

 With Anti-Theft Immobilizer

  ‹› If the Engine Control Module (ECM) will be replaced, connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and perform the "Replacing Engine Control Module"

guided function.

‹› The threads on the shear bolts may have locking compound on them. Warm the shear bolts using a hot air gun (VAS 1978/14) so they are easier to

remove. Do not to damage any wires, connectors or components nearby when doing this.

Removing

-

Turn off the ignition.

-

Remove the windshield wiper arms.

-

Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead.

-

Push the retaining frame in the - direction of the arrow - downward and remove the ECM.
