Selector Mechanism Overview, through 02.2009

CAUTION!
Shift the selector lever into the "P" position and engage the parking brake before working with the engine running.

Shift Handle with Cover

‹› Do not remove the knob if not necessary. For emergency release, only the cover must be removed. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Manual

Release ] See: Procedures. 

‹› Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure it with a tie strap or wire. This prevents the button from being pushed

back into the knob accidentally.

Selector Lever and Mechanism

‹› With the shift lock solenoid (N110). 

‹› Emergency release, refer to => [ Selector Lever Manual Release ] See: Procedures. 

‹›     Short description for removal and installation:

Remove the enter console.

Remove the cable from the transmission and from the selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.2009 ] See: Shift
