VAG1765B internally threaded pop rivet levering pliers

Note:  If a stabilizer is retrofitted at rear axle, it is absolutely essential that a stabilizer with 27 mm is installed at the front axle.

Required replacement parts (retrofit kit)

Stabilizer 26 mm 

^

Stabilizer clamps (4x)

^

Rubber bushings (4x)

^

Hex bolt M8 x 28 (4x)

^

Internally threaded pop rivet M8 (2x)

^

Mounting bracket (2x)

^

Hex bolt M6 (8x)

^

Internally threaded pop rivet M6 (8x)

Note:  Make sure the surface is not damaged when installation the stabilizer. Repair paint damage, if necessary and protect against corrosion using
underbody sealer.

Pulling internally threaded pop rivet M8 into control arm

Install nut M8 onto bolt M8 x 45

^

Thread in bolt M8 x 45 far enough until internally threaded pop rivet M8 until "nut" is filled up.

^

Turn nut M8 against collar of internally threaded pop rivet by hand.

^

Inserting internally threaded pop rivet M8 into control arm

^

Pull in internally threaded pop rivet with pressure by turning nut M8 and counter holding at bolt head.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm 
1 - Bolt M8 x 45
2 - Internally threaded pop rivet M8
3 - Nut M8
4 - VAG1331 torque wrench

Note:  Make sure collar contacts control arm while under pressure during pulling in of the internally threaded pop rivet.

Secure mounting bracket in subframe using internally threaded pop rivet M6

Drill out four of the six bores to 9 mm.

WARNING:  Use protective glasses when drilling

Pull in internally threaded pop rivet (using VAG 1765B internally threaded pop rivet-lever pliers.
