Trunk / Liftgate Shock / Support: Removal and Replacement

Rear Lid Gas Strut, Removing

(Diagram shows left gas strut)

Open and support rear lid.

-

Lift locking clip - 1 - with screwdriver and pull gas strut off ball-head pins - 2 - and - 4 -.

NOTE:  When reusing gas strut, locking clip - 1 - must not be completely removed from ball socket, otherwise clip will be damaged.

Tightening torque:
Ball-head pin - 2 - 20 Nm
Screw - 3 - = 8 Nm
