Removing

 
U70-0001
  • ‒ Disconnect battery.
  • ‒ Remove steering wheel.

=> Running Gear booklet; Repair group 48

  • ‒ Remove heating and fresh air control knobs and lever out trim.
  • ‒ Lever out radio insert.
  • ‒ → Remove Phillips screws -arrows- from instrument trim and pull off trim slightly.
  • ‒ Detach switches and warning lamps from trim by pulling forwards.
 
U70-0002
  • ‒ Remove trim.
  • ‒ → Unscrew instrument panel insert -arrows-, disconnect speedometer cable, pull out central plug connector and remove instrument panel insert.
  • ‒ Loosen and remove fresh air nozzles.
 
U70-0003
  • ‒ → Remove heating and fresh air controls by means of screws -1-.
  • ‒ Press out ashtray and detach all electrical connections.
  • ‒ Remove three Phillips screws from centre console and withdraw console.
 
U70-0004
  • ‒ → Remove Phillips screws -arrows-.
  • ‒ Withdraw oddments tray.
 
U70-0005
  • ‒ → Remove Phillips screws -arrows- and lift out glove compartment.
 
U70-0006
  • ‒ → Unclip electrical lead -2-.
  • ‒ Remove Phillips screw -3-.
 
U70-0007
  • ‒ → Remove Phillips screws -4- on left and right Phillips screws -5-.
  • ‒ Remove instrument panel from retaining clips and lift out by moving to the right.
 
U70-0008
  • ‒ → Mounting points for instrument panel -arrows-.
