Operation of shift mechanism

→ A - Shift pattern Reverse gear: Downward pressure system (as before). The reverse catch is overcome by pressing the gear lever downwards. 5th gear: Side pressure system. The catch for 5th gear is overcome by pressing lever sideways to the right (arrow symbol). When changing down into 4th gear no lateral pressure must be exerted on the gear lever as otherwise 2nd gear may be engaged accidentally. This would cause damage to the engine due to excessive speed! |
