→ A - Shift pattern

Reverse gear:

Downward pressure system (as before).

The reverse catch is overcome by pressing the gear lever downwards.

5th gear:

Side pressure system.

The catch for 5th gear is overcome by pressing lever sideways to the right (arrow symbol).

When changing down into 4th gear no lateral pressure must be exerted on the gear lever as otherwise 2nd gear may be engaged accidentally.

This would cause damage to the engine due to excessive speed!

B - External linkage

• Reverse gear catch
• 5th gear retaining screw (5th gear safety catch)
• Retaining screw for selector shaft (gear detent)

C - Internal linkage

• Selector shaft
• Shift finger
• 5th gear catch, adjusting

• Spring, large, presses the selector shaft into the 3rd and 4th gear plane
• Spring, small
  presses the selector shaft automatically out off the 5th gear plane
• Reverse gear shift fork
• 1st/2nd gear shift fork
• 3rd/4th gear shift fork
• Shift link for 5th gear
