Checking and adjusting cold idle speed
  • ● Minimum engine oil temperature 60 °C.
  • ● Idle adjustment OK; checking =>page 22-50

  • ● → Choke cable pulled out to the full; operating lever for choke valve -1- must be on stop.
  • ● Ignition tester V.A.G 1367 connected up.
  • ‒ Fully open choke valve by way of lever -2-.
  • ‒ Start engine. The engine speed must be 4200 ± 200 rpm. If necessary, adjust cold idle speed by bending stop lever -arrow- until 4200 rpm are obtained.

Engine speed too high:

Squeeze lever together

Engine speed to low:
