(ABS, ABS/EDL)
Before hydraulic unit is removed completely, first check hydraulic pump and pressure warning switch as follows:
–  Battery voltage, fuses for ABS.
–  Brake fluid level.
–  Relay for ABS, relay for pump unit.
–  ABS connectors.
–  Earth connections on ABS unit and control unit.
–  Pump unit and pressure warning switch (dissipate pressure in accumulator, switch ignition on: Pump must start running and switch off after max. 60 sec., actuate brake pedal 2 to 3 times: Pump must again start running).
If these points do not lead to success (ABS lamp lights up), the ABS system must be checked according to ABS or ABS/EDL self-diagnosis → Running gear self-diagnosis; Rep. Gr.01.
