  Note
   
t  Sealing surfaces at connections of power steering tester -V.A.G 1402- and parts of power steering differ. The two adapters shown must therefore be used when checking pressure.
t  Adapter -V.A.G 1402/1 A-
t  Adapter set -V.A.G 1402/2-
–  Disconnect pressure line from pump.

–  Install adapter and test equipment. Cut-off valve on pressure gauge open.
–  Start engine and, if necessary, top up fluid level in reservoir.
–  With engine running at idling speed, close shut-off valve (not longer than 5 seconds) and read pressure.
Specification: 76 ... 82 bar pressure.
–  Renew pump if reading is higher or lower than specified → Chapter.
