1 - Threaded sleeve (with left-hand thread)
2 - Spacer web
3 - Spreader pins with dismantling slot
4 - Locking lugs for basic setting
5 - Recess for locking lugs
6 - Detent slide
7 - Clamping screw
8 - Rubber buffer
–  Lever out spreader pin in dismantling slot with a narrow screwdriver and take adjusting stop out of lid.
–  Take off rubber buffer and unscrew clamping screw (hexagon socket 3 mm) up to the edge of the detent slide.

–  Set threaded sleeve -3- (left-hand thread) to -a- = 3 mm distance. Check distance using e.g. hexagon key -2-. Reinstall rubber buffer.
  Note
When new, the adjusting stop is already set to a distance of 3 mm. Spacer -1- is in contact with threaded sleeve -3-.

–  Pull out notched slide and press in again until locking lugs-2- engage in the recess -1-.
Distance between housing and rubber buffer: -b- = 10 mm.
–  Insert adjusting stop, press in spreader pins.
–  Push the lid into the second locking point of the lock.
–  Open rear lid again.

–  Tighten clamp bolt -1- to 2 Nm (torque driver -V.A.G 1624-).
