Removing and installing front seat belts with belt tensioner
Removing and installing front seat belts with belt tensioner
  WARNING
Before commencing separating, straightening and panel beating work the belt tensioning units must be removed.
  Note
Illustration shows Golf two-door. Front belt anchorage, four-door → Chapter.
   
1 - Belt height adjustment
q   Remove belt height adjustment → Chapter.
2 - Belt guide
q   Secured with 2 cross-head bolts.
q   1.5 Nm
3 - Belt reel
q   Removing → Chapter
q   Retaining lugs determine position of belt reel.
4 - Anchor rail
q   Removing → Chapter
5 - Tensioner unit
q   Removing → Chapter
q   Part of seat belt.
q   Loosening the securing nut → Item makes the belt tensioner safe and tightening it makes the belt tensioner ready for use
6 - Bracket
7 - Locking nut
q   20 Nm
q   Part of the tensioner unit.
8 - Front seat belt buckle
q   Removing → Chapter
