Installing > < Renewing top cover 10.00 ?
Removing
Removing
–  Disconnect connector for rear window heating.
   
–  Unclip the top liner -1- in the left and right rear corner areas.

–  Detach seal -1- from the front roof frame.
–  Unscrew and remove the edging rail -2- (Torx -T20-).
–  Lever out clips -3-.

–  Unscrew the fastening strip for the front edge of top -1-.
–  Pull the top cover away from the front edging (it is glued in place).

–  Remove rivet -1- securing the retaining cable (drill off the rivet head and drive the shaft out of the top frame using a drift).

–  Detach seal -1- from the rear roof frame.
–  Unscrew and remove the edging rail -2- (Torx -T20-).
–  Lever out clips -3-.
–  Remove rivet -4- (drill off the rivet head and drive the shaft out of the top frame using a drift).
–  Pull the top cover away from the rear of the roof frame (it is glued in place).

–  Pull the retaining cable -2- out of the top cover -1-.
–  Remove rivet -3- (drill off the rivet head and drive the shaft out of the top frame using a drift).

–  Cut off the top cover all around the edge area (for better removal).
  Note
The retaining belt and top liner must not be damaged when cutting.
–  Pull out carpet-fastening clips (removal lever -V.A.G 80-200-).

–  Remove combi bolts -1- (Qty. 12) and pull off top fabric retainer -2-.
The sealing strip between the top fabric retainer -2- and the body can cause the retainer to stick slightly.
–  Fitting brackets -V.A.G 1887- can be put in place.

–  Remove rivets -1- from the top fabric retainer -2- (drill off the rivet head and drive the shaft out of the top fabric retainer using a drift).
The white securing straps -3- for the protective transport tarpaulin are not needed for assembly.

–  Pull the top cover strip -1- out of the top fabric retainer -2-.
