Fault table
Fault table
  Note
t  The following table lists all the faults, with the corresponding 5-digit code numbers, that can be recognized by the airbag control unit -J234- and displayed or printed out by the -V.A.G 1551- or -VAS 5051-.
t  Fault codes appear only on print-out.
t  Some of the fault messages listed are only displayed on the -VAS 5051-. With the -V.A.G 1551-, only the fault code will be printed in these cases.
t  The particular vehicle equipment in each case will determine which faults are possible.
t  Before replacing a component shown as faulty, check wiring and connections to the component as well as earth connections according to current flow diagram.
t  Check all relay plate connections are seated securely.
t  When repair has been carried out, the fault memory must always be interrogated again with the fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or -VAS 5051- and erased.
t  In addition, the fault type may also appear in the fault table.
