Final control diagnosis
Final control diagnosis
The function “Crash output” is checked with Final Control Diagnosis.
When airbags are ignited the central locking is switched to “unlock” and the engine is switched off.
  Note
t  Before performing the Final Control Diagnosis, switch central locking to “lock” (operate interior locking switch or locking button).
t  Start the engine.
t  After completing the Final Control Diagnosis the central locking controls are not active until the ignition has been switched off and on again.
–  Connect fault reader -V.A.G 1551- → Chapter.
–  Start self-diagnosis → Chapter.
   
Indicated on display:
–  Press keys -0- and -3-.

–  Confirm entry with the Q key.

03 - Final control diagnosis
Indicated on display:
The engine stops and the central locking must switch to “unlock”.
  
Final control diagnosis              - ->
Unlock central locking signal
Indicated on display:
–  Press → key.
During testing and assembly work, faults such as unplugged connectors, for example, can also be detected from other control units. Therefore you must interrogate and erase the fault memories of all control units when you are finished. To do so:
–  Press the 0 key twice for the address word and “Automatic test sequence” and confirm the entry with the Q key. The fault reader -V.A.G 1551- transmits all known address words one after the other.
If a control unit responds with its identification, the display will show the number of stored faults or “no fault recognised”.
Any stored faults for a system will be displayed and printed out one after the other. The fault reader -V.A.G 1551- then transmits the next address word.

END
The automatic test sequence is finished when the following appears on the display:

  Note
t  If a fault is recognised:
t  1. Rectify fault.
t  2. Erase fault memory (function 05).
t  3. Interrogate fault memory again (function 02).
