Control unit identification
Control unit identification
Depending upon version installed (programme level), the control unit may indicate a different identification to that shown in the example. Allocation of control unit → Parts catalogue.
t  -096 927 731 AD-: Part No.
t  AG4 Gearbox 096: 4-speed automatic gearbox 096
t  1283: EPROM (programme level)
t  Coding 00000: not required at present.
t  WSC 131071: dealership number of fault reader -V.A.G 1551- with which the last coding was performed.
   
Indicated on display:
–  Pressing the HELP key prints out a list of possible fault causes.
–  After eliminating the possible causes of faults, again enter the address word 02 for “gearbox electronics” and confirm.
If “Control unit does not answer!” again appears:

Check voltage supply of control unit.

          Perform test step 1  → Chapter, Electrical check.
– 
          Check diagnostic cable connections  → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations Golf 1992 ►, Vento 1992 ►.
– 
          Fault table  → Chapter under fault code 65535, Control unit defective!
–
