Removing
-
‒ First check whether the valve seat insert rings and if necessary the cylinder head sealing surface can be reworked. If this is not the case then the valve guide should not be replaced.

‒ Press worn valve guides out with
Valve stem ø 8 mm: 10-206
Valve stem ø 7 mm: 3121
from the camshaft side (valve guides with collar -service version- from the combustion chamber side).
Installing
-
‒ Coat new guides with oil and press in with 10-206/3121 from the camshaft side with head cold until shoulder makes contact.
Note:
When the shoulder on guide makes contact, the pressure must not exceed 10 kN (approx. 1.0 t) otherwise shoulder may break off.

‒ Ream guides out with hand reamer
Valve stem ø 8 mm: 10-215
Valve stem ø 7 mm: 3120
using plenty of cutting fluid.

‒ Rework valve seats
