B - Toothed belt only removed from camshaft pulley > < Installing

–  Align mark on camshaft pulley with mark on cylinder head cover or toothed belt guard.
–  Fit toothed belt on crankshaft pulley (note direction of rotation).
–  Secure vibration damper/belt pulley with one bolt (note fixing arrangement).

–  Align marking on vibration damper or on pulley with marking on intermediate shaft sprocket (TDC cylinder 1).
–  Fit toothed belt onto camshaft pulley.

–  Tension toothed belt, to do this turn tensioning roller -in direction of arrow- using pin wrench (e.g. Matra V159).
The toothed belt must just be able to be turned 90° with thumb and forefinger centrally between camshaft pulley and intermediate shaft sprocket.
–  Tighten clamping nut on tensioning roller.
Specified torque: 45 Nm
–  Turn crankshaft two full turns and check adjustment.
–  Remove vibration damper/belt pulley.
–  Install toothed belt guard lower part.
–  Install coolant pump pulley, vibration damper/belt pulley and toothed belt guard upper part.
–  Install poly V-belt tensioning roller, if fitted.
Specified torque: 20 Nm
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Check ignition timing, adjust if necessary → Engine, mixture preparation; Rep. Gr.28
