Special tools, workshop equipment, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required

◆ Test box V.A.G 1598/18
-
◆ Hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 or multimeter V.A.G 1715
-
◆ Adapter set V.A.G 1594
-
◆ Current flow diagram
Test prerequisites:
Test sequence
-
‒ Switch off ignition.
-
‒ Connect test box
.
-
‒ Bridge sockets 42+46 with auxiliary cables from V.A.G 1594.
-
‒ Measure voltage between following sockets:
45+1, 68+1 and 23+1
Specification: approx. battery voltage
If the specification is not obtained:
-
‒ Check current supply relay terminal 30 (J317), check wiring connection according to current flow diagram for open/short circuit and transfer resistance at contacts.
If no fault is found in wiring and relay:
-
‒ Renew Diesel direct injection system control unit (J248)
