Notes:

• ◆ The work sequence is dependent upon the programme level of the Digifant control unit. Programme level number , connecting fault reader V.A.G 1551 and selecting engine electronics control unit.
• ◆ Recognition of the following operating conditions are checked with this check: idling, part load, full load and overrun cut-off.

• ‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 and select engine electronics control unit (address word 01); selection is carried out with engine idling.

• ‒ Input 08 for "Read measured value block" function and confirm with Q.

• ‒ Input 04 for display group 04 and confirm with Q.

Note:

If something different is indicated on the display:

=> Fault reader operating instructions

checking idling recognition:

• ‒ Observe 2nd position from left in display zone 4.
       Specification: 1 (01000000)

Checking part-load recognition by smoothly increasing throttle:

• ‒ Observe 3rd position from left in display zone 4.
       Specification: 1 (00100000)

Checking full load recognition by briefly opening throttle fully:

• ‒ Observe 4th position from left in display zone 4.
       Specification: 1 (00010000)

Checking overrun operation recognition by briefly increasing engine speed to over 3000 rpm (coolant temperature above 60 °C):

• ‒ Observe 1st position from left in display zone 4.
       Specification: 1 (10000000) briefly with throttle valve closed and engine speed above 1200 rpm
• ‒ Press ⇒ key.
• ‒ Input 06 for "End output" and confirm with Q.

If the specifications are not attained:

• ‒ Interrogate and erase fault memory. Eliminate faults if necessary => Page 01-5 .
• ‒ Check throttle valve potentiometer
  => Page 24-39 .
