Matching automatic gearbox control unit and throttle valve potentiometer to one another

Note:

The automatic gearbox control unit (J217) and throttle valve potentiometer (G69) must be matched to one another after the following work has been completed:

  • ◆ Renewal of automatic gearbox control unit
  • ◆ Removing and installing throttle valve potentiometer
  • ◆ Renewal of throttle valve housing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

  • ◆ Fault reader V.A.G 1551 with cable V.A.G 1551/3

Matching

  • ‒ Using fault reader V.A.G. 1551 bring system to basic setting:

=> Automatic gearbox 096; Repair Group 01; Self-diagnosis; Introduction of basic setting
