| Modified Teves 04 ABS/EDL units |
| LHD Golf vehicles from chassis number 1H RP 376 952 to chassis number 1H RP 384 545 are optionally fitted with Teves 04 ABS/EDL units, which only have the ABS function. |
| Accordingly, the affected vehicles are only fitted with an ABS control unit with the part No. 1H0 907 379 B and an ABS wiring harness with the part No. 1H1 971 279 E. |
| The ABS/EDL units which are installed differ from conventional ABS/EDL units in the following regards: |
| t
| They have no series resistor for EDL. |
| t
| They have a long valve block, although they have no EDL function. |
| t
| Part No. 1H1 614 101 B is cited on the brake servo model plate. |
| If one of the above described ABS/EDL units is defective, it must be replaced with an ABS unit with part No. 1H1 698 117 C. |
| The two brake hoses from the hydraulic unit to the brake master cylinder must also be replaced; Part No. 1H1 698 705. |
| Only if one individual brake hose from the hydraulic unit to the brake master cylinder is damaged do brake hoses with part No. 1H1 698 705 A from the ABS/EDL unit have to be used. |
