Installing
  Note
Before pressing pistons back, draw off some brake fluid from reservoir. Use a bleed bottle or a plastic bottle which is only used for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous and must on no account be sucked out by mouth through a hose.
   
–  Screw in piston by turning wheel on piston compressing and extracting tool -3272- clockwise.
–  Insert retaining spring, if available, into brake caliper housing.
–  Insert brake pads.
–  Pull protective foil off brake pad backplate.
  Note
t  Apply resetting and removal tool -3272- so that collar -arrow- of tool rests on brake caliper.
t  If piston is difficult to move, use a 13 mm open jaw spanner on flats -arrow A- provided for this purpose.
t  If the piston is pushed back with a piston resetting tool the automatic adjustment in the brake caliper will be destroyed.

–  Secure brake caliper housing with new self-locking bolts.
–  Attach handbrake cable to brake caliper housing.
  Note
t  After changing brake pads, firmly depress brake pedal several times with vehicle stationary, so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
t  After changing brake pads check brake fluid level.
–  Attach handbrake cable to brake caliper housing.
