Removing and installing brake pads/brake caliper from Model year '96 (T)
 
N46-0069
  • ‒ → Remove both guide pins from brake caliper.
  • ‒ Remove brake pads.

Installing

Note:

Before inserting new brake pads, press piston back into the cylinder with resetting tool. Before pressing the piston back, draw off brake fluid from the reservoir with a bleeder bottle. Otherwise particularly if reservoir has been topped up, fluid will overflow and cause damage.

  • ‒ → Pressing piston back.
  • ‒ Insert brake pads.
 
N46-0071
  • ‒ → Install brake caliper housing with brake pads to wheel bearing housing.
    • ‒ Locate lower brake caliper housing -arrow- first.
  • The brake caliper housing lug -arrow- must be behind the wheel bearing housing guide.
  • ‒ Insert guide pins into brake caliper housing and tighten to 25 Nm.
