Modified rear axle for Golf Variant
Modified rear axle for Golf Variant
As of vehicle ID No. 1H Z SW 514 432 (May 1995), the Golf Variant has been produced with a different rear axle. Introduction was gradual.
   
The position of the V profile versus the longitudinal member has been rotated by 15°.
1 - V profile
 - Centre of V profile -arrow- is rotated by 15° versus the centre of longitudinal member -3-
 - Supplied pre-assembled with spring for brake pressure regulator -4- and mounting bracket -5-.
2 - Bracket for brake hose on mounting bracket
3 - Rear axle longitudinal member
4 - Spring for brake pressure regulator
 - Coordinated to modified position of V profile.
5 - Mounting bracket
 - Bolted to V profile (axle carrier) in correct installation position

When the previous version of the rear axles has been used, only rear axles with rotated V profile will be supplied as spare parts. The following parts must then also be used for vehicles up to July 1994.

Introduction was gradual. From May 1995 to August 1995, vehicles with rotated V profile rear axles and vehicles without a rear axle with rotated V profile were produced at the same time.
If the rear axle of a vehicle fitted with a rear axle with rotated V profile as standard has to be renewed, the bracket, clip and brake hoses fitted in the vehicle can be re-used.
